MAIN DESIGN

The purpose of the main design phase is to further develop the project to obtain the required approvals from the relevant classification society and flag state. During this stage, final CFD analyses and structural optimizations are performed to validate vessel performance, following the selection of manufacturers for the main systems.

In line with customer requirements, the vessel’s effective 3D model may be analyzed in a ship model basin in addition to CFD calculations, providing enhanced performance validation. The basic design phase is completed upon receipt of classification society approvals. During this period, the 3D structural model is developed in accordance with class requirements, enabling a smooth transition and a valuable head start into the detailed design phase

Scope of Basic Design

  • Hull form optimization to enhance hydrodynamic performance and efficiency.
  • Selection and integration of key equipment in line with operational requirements and class rules.
  • Machinery and electrical system design, including system layouts and technical coordination.
  • Preparation and submission of classification society drawings for approval.
  • Execution of additional engineering calculations to support structural integrity and system performance.
  • Hydrostatic and stability analyses to ensure regulatory compliance and safe vessel operation.
